Research

So now that I have an outline for a YA novel, I'm currently reading YA books in just about every genre so I can get a feel for it...it's the most awesome research ever.

Just finished reading Tell Me What You See by Zoran Drvenkar. Yeah, try to say that after a few drinks! Or even before...

Now I am currently reading Shiver, which was on several of the lists that some of you gave me for great YA fiction!

What are you reading?

I just looked back at my list and saw that Shiver isn't on mine. It would be number twelve if I had kept going. Enjoy!

Last night I read Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta TWICE. Luckily its a short book, but I just couldn't put it down, and when it was done I just had to go back and read it again.

And tomorrow starts my vacation and hopefully I'll get a few books read. Besides Tell Me What You See, I have the ARC of Shadow Hills by Anastasia Hopcus, and The Hunger Games (YAY!!!) Whats a vacation without lots of reading, eh?

So, do you like Shiver?

ooo I read Hunger Games next!!!

I'm not sure how I feel about Shiver, but then again I just started!
Have FUN on your vacation! I'll miss you!

If you're not completely keen on Shiver, don't give up on Maggie... I liked Linger, the sequel to Shiver better, and then I LOVED Lament and Ballad, her urban faerie stories.

First of all--New Follower! *waves*

I'm not sure how I found you--I've been on a crazy blog hopping trail today--but I'm glad I did because I love connecting with other writers.

Shiver is excellent--and I swear I'm not just saying that because Maggie's my agent mate. It's not like I KNOW her. ;) Um, other awesome YA? Definitely Hunger Games and Catching Fire. And I LOVE anything by Lisa Schroeder--if you like ghost stories in verse. :)

Nice to meet you. Have a good weekend!

I just read Will Grayson, Will Grayson. It was really good. Other YA authors that I love are Sarah Dessen, Jake Wizner, Libba Bray, and David Lubar.

Happy Reading

Hi Shannon!
I'm so glad you've decided to follow me! I love meeting other writers too, so I'm so glad you commented!

Marisa, I'm liking Shiver now...I wasn't sure about the first chapter, but now that I've gotten into it I'm starting to not want to put it down :-)
Kate- I will definitely add Will Grayson to my list! Thanks for all the suggestions!

I'm reading a collection of Grimm's Fairy Tales. Just read The Two Brothers tonight, along with a few shorter ones. Fascinating stuff.

Oh, and I also read Tilly's Tale by Harry Porter today, which I blogged about. :)
