My sexy little WIP

I love my WiP!!!
I'm just afraid no one else will. As most of you know, I'm turning my short story, The Fall, into a novel. I'm currently trying to write at least 500 words a day. Anything over 500 is a major bonus. You know, ice cream worthy. Or something.
Anyway, so far it's going ok. I have a plot outlined, which makes perfect sense to me but now I'm worried it won't make sense to anyone else. Luckily, a handful of people have agreed to critique it when the time comes. I guess they'll let me know? But it's like I don't want to waste my time typing up stuff that sucks! ha! But it's definitely to early to send it for a critique.
My WiP is constantly on my mind. It's always sitting there, on the computer, like..."Why don't you come over here and work on me..." and all these other inappropriate things. I'm always like, "No, WiP, not in front of the kids." Because it's always in front of the kids. They're always around! I'm finding it really hard to find time to work on it because Jacob has just decided to give up naps :-( So, this 500 words a day thing is going to be a challenge.
Does anyone else have an inappropriate WiP? One that tries to steal you away from children/work/errands?
How many words do you typically type a day?

I don't think my WiP is sexy so much as she is super needy. But then, I'm needy too. We have a co-dependent relationship, and I'm sure its rather unhealthy. I wish she was sexy, though. Yours sounds way more fun than my needy WiP.

I can't wait to read your words, D!!

Gosh I am so the same way, not wanting to spend my measly 500 words a day on writing that sucks. And yeah, my wip totally inappropriate. It's resistant when I have the time, but on my case when I don't. It is like the wip and the kids are in cahoots. Sorry about the naps :(.

Oh my word, that's the best feeling! But so guilt-inducing when you have so much else you should be thinking about, isn't it? I struggle with that, too. And it's turned me into an insomniac. I get so little sleep now because that seems to be the only time I get to actually work. *sigh* It's the way of things, I guess when you have kids and responsibilities. Good luck with the 500 words!!

500 words/day is a great goal. Remember the adage: the worst stuff you write is better than the best stuff you didn't!

Marisa- my WiP wants sexy time all the time! I think I'd rather have a needy WiP

Tina- I'm sorry about the naps too :-( BUT I got a LOT of writing done today!

Carolina- I know what you mean about insomnia. When I start working on my WiP at night, I won't go to sleep. It's like I have to get it out of my system before I close my eyes!

Milo- I'd never heard that adage, but I like it! Thanks for the encouragement, it's much appreciated!

I didn't realize this was the extension of your short story! Awesome! So do I get to find out what happened before anyone else?!

It is so hard to find time to write when kids are at home. I always tried to get up early, which was hard. I'd give them a bunch of attention and then let them watch Sesame Street while I wrote. And in place of naps, all my kids had quiet room time for one hour, in which I also wrote. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, Laura! I should definitely start quiet time with my 21 month old...I think it's too late for my 4 year old!
