need inspiration

So I'm kind of almost done with my book...and I have kind of unofficially done NaNo, but not really...and now I can't finish. I started reading what I wrote, from the beginning- in hopes that it'll motivate me to finish the stupid thing- but I couldn't even get halfway through reading without the kids interrupting me. The problem is I'm just not sure it's any good. I know everyone feels that way, and that's fine, but I've only got like 15K left to go and I can't get myself motivated to just get 'r done.
What has inspired all of you guys this month?

Well, nothing has inspired me lately... I'm a the creative doldrums which is sucky. But I tell ya what I did to finish SLEEP back in Sept - I gave myself a "12 Days to Finish SLEEP" challenge (the 12 days were picked because I realized I had 12 scenes to finish)

And it took me 20 days. But I STILL did it, and now I have it all ready for revision, because it just isn't any good!!

Good luck to you, D! You are so close to the end - just finish!! It will feel fab!

We've all been there and Marisa said it well, it's sucky. Sorry, D. Maybe you have to let yourself feel really bummed because that is what happens after your life is totally disrupted by everything and then you have to get down to business and business is dang hard. Come back to the writing slower than anticipated and whatever you do don't read your ms when feeling this way. Instead read something you can enjoy. Come chat with us. Work on something else before you set back to it. Write a quick short story. You will finish that book. And probably just when you turn away from it it will come beating on your door and then you will have yet another disruption at your house.

In the spirit of making me feel better: finish your book.

Hey! I am going to paste your old TPR vid in testimonials at my blog. Is that okay? I think I asked once before but finally got an idea for it.

Set it aside and work on something else for a week. Come back to it with a fresher perspective. Works for me!
