Ick.

This week will not be fun.

I have to get my son to the surgical center by 6:30 am tomorrow. Yes, you heard me right.
6:30 am.
Not to mention the poor little dude. Surgery at 19 months can't be fun. He's tongue-tied, for all of you who don't know or simply can't remember. I think the technical term for the surgery is a frenulectomy.

Agh. And I'm sick. And it's raining. And I have to think about dinner, and I don't want to think about dinner. It all just sucks :-(

Keep my little boy in your prayers/thoughts. I will be participating in The Practice Room today, in less than an hour. Come and join us!

YAY, Dena! You're joining us today!

Sorry about your little dude and his surgery... How rotten. And being sick - also rotten. And rainy weather - also rotten.

But hey, at least The Practice Room will be fun.

Dena--I'll be thinking of you. My middle guy (6 yrs old) catapulted himself from his bunk bed onto his nose on Friday night. Yup. Spent the night getting xrays and cleaning up blood. And, he's absolutely fine.

I'm hoping your little one comes through with flying colors. Worrying about children never gets any easier.

Healing thoughts headed your son's way. (Cook a one pot meal, order a pizza, make mac and cheese and hotdogs.)

Hope Little Brave Guy is fine - just remember that kids usually handle these things better than us cranky adults. Loads of prayers and positive vibes coming your way Dena!

OUCH Heather! Get some sleep the next day or two. Matty was up all night Saturday coughing and kept me awake...nothing serious, but those things always scare us parents to death!

He will definitely be in my prayers tonight! Surgery is so scary when you are little! Are you going to give him lots of ice cream? :P

Saying prayers for your little one! I'm surprised they are doing surgery though. I'm tongue tied, and the doctors told my parents they shouldn't opt for surgery on me because it could cause speech problems. Of course, that was 27 years ago, so... there is that!

For the record, I still get made fun of to this day when people see me stick out my barely there tongue, so it's probably for the best. Good luck lady!

Hey SIF,
That is weird because the reason both my uncles (and now my son) got their tongue clipped is because it is impairing their speech! There are different degrees of tongue-tied though. Jacob is pretty bad- he can't touch the tongue to the roof of his mouth!

So weird! I think they figured since I was talking fine (and I really do have no problems talking!) it wasn't worth the risk that clipping it could ruin that.

I CAN touch the roof of my mouth though. I just can't stick it out at all. Everytime a new doctor wants me to stick my tongue out it's a little embarrassing. They always say "further" and I mumble "can't".

It's never caused me any other problems though!

Glad all went well with his surgery! :)
