HAHAHAHA! You didn't know at the end everyone dies, and the evil protagonist, Trixie, gets away with her crime? It's definitely a weird genre for him to venture into. Maybe someone had some kids who he wanted to read his stories to. Kind of like when actors who do raunchy comedy or horror turn to Disney movies so their kids can watch them. Koontz is such a good writer that I bet he makes this work well.
